Why Still Sassy Is Different
Most beauty advice for women over 50 is written by people who aren’t. Most confidence advice comes from people with nothing to sell you but confidence.
I’m both halves. I trained as a makeup artist at 54, and I’m an accredited empowerment coach of 11 years. So, I can tell you which concealer stops creasing on crepey skin, and why you stopped wearing red lipstick in the first place.
But this was never meant to be a site about me.
Inspirators, not influencers. That might not be a proper word (yet), but there’s a difference, and it matters.
Imagine pooling everything we know between us about a product. ‘Sharon from Birmingham loved its creamy consistency.’ ‘Ethel from Loughborough was surprised how long the effect lasted.’ ‘Sarah from Lewes thought it knocked ten years off her smile.’ All the good stuff and the what-needs-improving, in one place, from women with skin like ours.
That’s what’s coming in September. Somewhere for midlife minxes to talk to each other, rather than just read my stuff and watch me on YouTube.

Julie is such a fun and relatable outlier in the world of beauty and make up techniques, particularly for women in their prime years. She has some great practical tips, knows her products and stays up to date with what’s new on the market. She uses this knowledge to help us decide what to buy, avoiding expensive mistakes. Every make up bag should have Julie in it to make the best of our looks and keep us sassy.
